Building a high-quality keyword and targeting structure doesn't have to take hours of manual research. With our Semantic Core feature, you can automatically generate a comprehensive keyword structure for your campaigns using your historical account performance and search term data.

Here is how to create your first Semantic Core.

Step 1: Navigate to the Semantic Core Manager

To get started, log in to your account and look at the main navigation menu on the left side of your screen. Click on Semantic core (currently in Beta).

Step 2: Create a New Semantic Core

Once you are in the Semantic Core Manager, you will see a list of your existing cores (if you have any). To build a new one, click the Create new semantic core button located in the top right corner.

Step 3: Select Your Products

You will be taken to the "Create semantic core" setup page.

  1. On the left-hand side, you will see a list of your available products. You can use the search bar to find specific ASINs, SKUs, or Titles.

  2. Click on the products you want to include. They will automatically be added to the Selected products box in the center of the screen.

  3. Variation Themes: Once your products are selected, the Add new button under the "Variation themes" section will become active. You can use this feature if the products you selected have different attributes, such as color, size, shape, and so on.

Step 4: Fill in the Details

Now, let's define the parameters for your campaign. On the right side of the screen, you will find several fields to fine-tune your core:

  • Product Name & Brand Name: Fill in the basic details for the core. Note: The Brand name will automatically populate based on the products you selected.

  • Seed Keywords (Required): Enter the base keywords you want to build your core around. (Example: car charger)

  • Related Values: Add any related terms, features, or specifications that describe your product to help expand the semantic core.

  • Product Negative Exacts & Product Negative Phrases: Enter any specific keywords you want to explicitly exclude from your campaigns right from the start. This helps prevent wasted ad spend on irrelevant searches.

  • Use Historical Data: Toggle this on to allow the system to analyze your previous campaign performance. (Note: Look out for the "Soon" badge if this specific sub-feature is still rolling out).

  • Top Performing Keyword Placement: This is a powerful feature for placement strategies. If you use this, the system will create a separate advertising campaign for each individual keyword, allowing for highly precise bid and placement control.

  • Top Competitor ASINs: Enter specific competitor ASINs that you want to target or use as a reference for your core structure.

  • Competing Brands: You can manually type in competitor brands, or simply click the Generate by AI button underneath this specific field. The AI will automatically find and populate relevant competitor brands for you.

Step 5: Generate the Core

Once you are happy with the parameters, click the Create now button in the top right corner.

Important Note: The "Create now" button will remain grayed out and unclickable until all mandatory fields are filled out. If you hover over the button, a tooltip will show you exactly what is missing (Product name, Brand name, Seed keywords, and Selected products).

After clicking the button, you will be immediately redirected back to the Semantic Core manager dashboard.

Step 6: Wait for Processing and Manage Your Campaigns

On your dashboard, you will see your new Semantic Core appear as a card. Initially, its status will show as Processing.

Please wait for about 1 minute and refresh your page periodically.

Once the status changes to Created, all features will be unlocked, and you will have three options to proceed:

  1. View (Eye icon): Click this to look inside and review the generated keyword and targeting structure.

  2. Export .xlsx (Arrow icon): Download your core as an Excel spreadsheet. You can open this file to make manual edits, and then upload it directly as a Bulk Upload file in your Amazon Ads Manager.

  3. Upload to Amazon (Bottom button): Ready to go? Click this button to seamlessly push your newly created campaigns directly to Amazon via API.
